One important part in the movie production process is the cameraman. Cameraman or also known as camera person or cinematographer is a person who is responsible to handle the camera and takes all movie scenes. They are operating the camera equipment; maintaining the camera angles and composition.
Camera person must have an eye for camera angles and shooting equipment. The technology of image capture changes rapidly, so it is very important for all cameramen to learn the newest image capture technology in order to support their work. In movie production, a camera person will work together with the director, actors, movie crews, and director of photography. At the movie production, the position of the camera person is in the part of movie crew so the camera person will work within the director instruction. a good movie camera person needs to learn about skills such as, camera operation skill, framing shot knowledge, the ability to select the appropriate camera lenses for a certain scene, and choreographing. Camera person is not always working behind the camera equipment; they also need to do some preparation before shooting. The ability to set up the camera equipment is very important to get the best image that the director needs. To be a success as a camera person you need to know how to handle and set up camera equipment properly.
A camera person is unable to work alone; they also need help from some people. The people who helped cameraman to do their job are called camera crew. Camera crews are several people who have camera set up skills that will help camera operator in maintain, preparing, and set up the camera equipment. They are hired by the production company during a production of certain movie. Finally, the good cooperation between cameraman and camera crew is very important in success movie production.
